Who: Senator Dan Kotowski (D-Park Ridge) will be joined on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 by Representative Julie Hamos (D-Evanston), Laurence Msall, President of the Civic Federation of Chicago, and others to discuss the need to lower the veto override threshold of the Cook County Board.

Where: 15th Floor Press Room, James R. Thompson Center

When: Tuesday September 8, 2009 at 10:30 A.M.

What: This legislation aims to reduce the threshold to override the Board President from 4/5ths to a 3/5ths majority, which will place greater checks and balances on the County Board President and restore accountability to the County Board.
