"Community Extravaganza" At Maine West Aug. 29

Maine West High School is the setting for a "Community Extravaganza" that will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The event will include a youth fair, car show, food, raffle and prizes, an obstacle course, bounce house and dunk tank and presentation and examination of infant seats.

"Our goal is to have fun and provide attendees with information about your services through a variety of vendors and other activities to benefit the families of the 33d District," according to a letter sent to prospective vendors by co-sponsor State Senator Dan Kotowski (D-33d). An estimated 2,000 local families are expected to attend.

Other agencies involved include the Des Plaines Police Dept., Des Plaines Youth Commission and Maine West High School.
