State Sen. Dan Kotowski, the sponsor, said every dollar invested by the state leads to $23 in investment from the private sector.
The treasurer’s office invests 1 percent of its $10 billion portfolio in these venture capital funds, which give greater returns than the office’s other investments, the Park Ridge Democrat said.
“It’s been more successful, it’s led to greater investment and support for more jobs in the state of Illinois,” Kotowski said.
